Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society (Regd.) was founded in 1998 by P.P. Rtn. J. B. Bahl who saw the need to enlighten the life of people who could not see because of damaged corneas.
Mr. Bahl’s passion to help people gain eyesight has made this a movement in Punjab. Taking calls at odd hours in the middle of night, he will start the process of getting the eyes from someone who passed away, console and counsel the family, contact fellow Rotarians, receiver, doctor, courier and others to ensure a smooth transfer of corneas.The Society was formed with an aim to eradicate corneal blindness from Punjab, which has extended to the neighboring states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Delhi.
Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society has provided light to over 3,650 people since 1998. Mr. A. S. Mittal, Chairman, Sonalika International Tractor Ltd, and Mnder Singh, Chairman, Rayat and Bahra Institutions are giving us every kind of support co-operation and guidance.The Society gained momentum by joining hand with Plano Metro Club, Piano, end USA.
Mr. Sanjeev Khanna, International Chair of Plano Metro Rotary Club has helped in numerous ways from getting patient lists in Haryana, working with Government officials and politicians in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, structural guidance and financial support. The financial support from the various donors from the every field of the society and my family for being a part of my life to provide eye sight to a number of needy persons.
